War is Breaking Out: Montezuma Dispatches Warriors to Help the People of the North

Recently, uprisings have occurred in Texcoco and Tlacopan. There seems to be disagreement in the way the Triple Alliance- Tenochtitlan, Texcoco and Tlacopan are ruling the areas we conquered. They protest that we always ask them for tributes to be sacrificed, and too often as well. To stop them, Montezuma has ordered 25 000 soldiers to stop the attack to conquer another region and to come back to Tenochtitlan and then Texcoco and Tlacopan to aid in stopping the nonsense.

Montezuma publicly expresses his thoughts during an interview. “... But if they think about it, without sacrifices, how will the world keep on spinning, the sun continue rising and rain to keep on pouring? It simply needs to be done. If you want to have a harvest next year, aid us in keeping the gods happy. People everywhere are sacrificed, it is not just us…”

The protesters have started rebelling since January, their actions getting more aggressive and is surely going to get worse. They started by calmly protesting outside homes of important nobles, then they started trashing the markets and stealing weapons to wreak havoc on even simple civilians and has reached a peak of interrupting sacrifices and taking the to-be-sacrificed into their headquarters to so-call protect them. If that isn’t enough, they publicly announced that the gods would be happy even without sacrifices and offerings, as if they were the gods themselves.

Most people are offended by their actions and even The Tenochtitlan Times has received reports of threats and bribes from our readers. We would like to warn everyone to keep an alert on suspicious people. Not much is there to worry for the citizens of Tenochtitlan but if you live in Texcoco and Tlacopan, keep your heads up. Help will arrive soon and we will stop this terror for once and for all.
